About WADABA

Learn about our mission, values, and the impact we're making across Africa

What is WADABA?

The Water Data Bank (WADABA) is a regional initiative led by One Green Africa, with the goal of creating a centralized, citizen-driven water data hub. The project spans African countries including Cameroon, DR Congo and others, addressing gaps in water monitoring, equity, and governance. WADABA is a data-driven, smart water information platform designed to centralize, standardize, and monetize water-related data across regions.

Our Vision

WADABA envisions a water-secure Africa where communities have access to reliable, clean water resources. We strive for transparent, data-driven water governance that enables informed decision-making and sustainable water management across the continent.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower communities, policymakers, and researchers with accurate, timely, and accessible water data through citizen science, digital innovation, and collaborative research for better decision-making, resource management, and sustainable development.

Our History

WADABA was launched as a response to critical gaps in water data collection and monitoring across Africa. Founded through the partnership of Eau-Hygiene-Assainissement Pour Tous-ONG and One Green Africa (OGA), we began with pilot programs in Cameroon and DR Congo.

Our Impact

Our work spans multiple African countries, focusing on water equity in underserved communities, youth engagement in environmental monitoring, and evidence-based policy development for sustainable water resource management.
